Perspective

So much of the time perspective makes all the difference in the world.  Don’t take me wrong, I’m not a person who believes that positive thinking or energy will change reality.  What is, is.  But our mindset makes so much difference in our lives.  There are so many things in life that are not in our control, but the way we think is in our control.

 Sometimes I feel like I never catch up with my life. I just cleaned up the dishes and there they are again, stacked up on in any available space! The box of dress up clothes that was just neat and tidy a half hour ago has its contents distributed hither and yon. This kind of stuff can wear me down. I’m amazed at how I’m energized when the house is neat and the cleaning is finished. But that doesn’t happen every day! The other days life isn’t so perfect. But it’s reality. We are a family who lives here. We use things. The things don’t always get put away.

I would love to have my perspective miraculously change.  I would like to see the princess dresses lying on the floor and think, “what a blessing, my girls have wonderful imaginations!”  I would like to see the dirty dishes and think, “thank you God that we have more than enough to eat, so many mothers have malnourished children crying!”

I’m working on this perspective change. Old habits die hard! Every day is a new chance to see my world with a correct view.

A little while back I was looking at the random tiny things that clutter and collect in the corner of the counter over time.  Instead of seeing only clutter I saw something else that I put onto this list:

So are these little things on my counter clutter or are they blessings?

Love to all of you who read this, and may you see good even in the middle of life that is often hard.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5,6

  1. A friend shared your link on Facebook... Thank you for the challenge to see the 'clutter' as blessings instead. :) God bless, KathyM
