Cups that Talk

When I see a pair of cups sitting together it gives me a warm feeling inside.  They convey a silent message. They show relationship.  I am not alone.  There is friendship here.
  Two people -- together.

“I want to sip my coffee with you.”

“It’s time to leave, but I’m
 glad I’m going with you!”

“The day’s been long and hot.
Time for supper and some refreshing
iced tea together.”

“I love to spend time playing
with you because you’re my
 sister and my best friend!”

“Summer brings hot days spent
working for a farmer.
But a milkshake brought
to the field brings a smile!”

Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
Ecclesiastes 4:9,10

Titus and Felica's Wedding

Titus and Felica couldn’t have asked for a prettier June day for their wedding.  We took photos in the small town of Orange around the historic district.  I enjoyed getting to know this couple and I’ve never had a bride who laughed and smiled as much as Felica.  I loved it!  It was genuine happiness and love in her face!

A section from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s, The Song of Hiawatha,   quoted by the minister during the wedding service.

"As unto the bow the cord is,
So unto the man is woman,
Though she bends him, she obeys him,
Though she draws him, yet she follows,
Useless each without the other!"

I could tell that this girl loved her Daddy!

The Bride's three sisters were the bridesmaids.  They were a lot of fun!

The wedding ceremony was at the Bride's church in Madison County.

The reception was in Orange.  The tables were full of color with lots of bright pink and blue making things festive.

Perspective

So much of the time perspective makes all the difference in the world.  Don’t take me wrong, I’m not a person who believes that positive thinking or energy will change reality.  What is, is.  But our mindset makes so much difference in our lives.  There are so many things in life that are not in our control, but the way we think is in our control.

Sometimes I feel like I never catch up with my life. I just cleaned up the dishes and there they are again, stacked up on in any available space! The box of dress up clothes that was just neat and tidy a half hour ago has its contents distributed hither and yon. This kind of stuff can wear me down. I’m amazed at how I’m energized when the house is neat and the cleaning is finished. But that doesn’t happen every day! The other days life isn’t so perfect. But it’s reality. We are a family who lives here. We use things. The things don’t always get put away.

I would love to have my perspective miraculously change.  I would like to see the princess dresses lying on the floor and think, “what a blessing, my girls have wonderful imaginations!”  I would like to see the dirty dishes and think, “thank you God that we have more than enough to eat, so many mothers have malnourished children crying!”

I’m working on this perspective change. Old habits die hard! Every day is a new chance to see my world with a correct view.

A little while back I was looking at the random tiny things that clutter and collect in the corner of the counter over time.  Instead of seeing only clutter I saw something else that I put onto this list:

So are these little things on my counter clutter or are they blessings?

Love to all of you who read this, and may you see good even in the middle of life that is often hard.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.

All Boy contest entry

June's contest at I Heart Faces is called "All Boy!" in honor of Father's day.  The best man in my life is my husband, Nathan.  He is handsome, a great Daddy, and loves the Lord!  I'm blessed.  And yes, the All Boy theme fits him because, just like my own Daddy, I know this man will always have some boy in him!!!  I love him!
