Today I’m looking
back on these
precious pictures of my baby boy.
So tiny.
So new to this world.
Everything unknown.
We watched him
as though every squirm,
every unintended dimpled smile,
was something no baby had attained to before he came along.
We know how
quickly they grow,
how soon
they change.
No longer
wrinkled and new.
Every infant
from the beginning of time,
did not stay
an infant.
And yet we
exclaim,
“See how he’s
growing!”
“I can’t
believe how he’s changing!”
It must be
that life is a miracle.
Why else can
we not wrap our minds around it?
though we
see it over and over?
“For this
child I prayed; and the LORD
has given me my petition which I asked of Him.”
1 Samuel 1:27
